There was a discussion about the filtering system several years ago
with Stefan, maybe he remembers it.

The following were the two main wishes:

1.) Filters working across accounts. I think this is what this thread
is also about: If I have a filter that assigns a colour to certain
addresses, I want it to work regardless of which account the mail
comes in through. No, I don't want to set up AB Groups for this.

2.) Combined filters instead of seperate filters for
Incoming/Outgoing/etc. I filter correspondence with friends or family
into specific folders, and if there are changes, I have to manually go
to the Incoming and Outgoing filters seperately. Instead, I wish to
see a filter interface in which I can just tick whether this filter
should be valid for Incoming or Outgoing messages, or both. Or be a
Read filter. You get the point.
