Hi Mary Bull, Wednesday, June 15, 2005 you let us know -at least in parts- :
> I think it is a "trifle" buggy, even for me, in that when I allowed > Windows to close The Bat! for me, the customary "compress all folders > on exit" did not take place. This must have been the reason to call a previous version "the rush" :) > Oh! Just now thought to check--and nor > did it delete the contents of the Trash folder, as it is set to do. Neglectable, too -it is a quick 'n dirty exit after all! Next time on a normal exit it is supposed to work as usual. > Only when I let Windows close The Bat! are these settings ignored. > When I close it myself--my usual routine--TB! does what I have asked > it to do. Right, it is a real minor thing for one who likes to exit programs the normal way. In fact my TB hung several times and not even task manager did appear pressing ctrl+alt+del, so I decided to press the power button. To my surprise nothing happened. I got curious and investigated a little on it, which was the reason for this posting. I had to press it for seconds to interrupt power completely, after start-up all seemed well again. The trifle bugy still nagged me :) every time TB hung again for no reason I could find. It happened when incoming mail was transmitted: at the end of the process, sometimes my PC froze at no CPU load (CPU-fan was not to be heard) > Can you try to notice carefully exactly what else on your machine is > different from mine? Not too hard to do... MSI mainboard, Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.66GHz, 1024 DDR-RAM, lots of devices (scanner, camera, USB-hub, printer, bluetooth dongle, HDD is a RAID-0 System, external HDD connected via firewire, TV-card, Nvidia GeForce 4ti 4200 as graphics. And yours -is it slightly different or more? I believe there are not two identical machines on earth :) In fact I don't believe it is hardware-related. Earlier versions were fine, after someone at RIT took a look at it. > So far as I know I don't have a fixed IP either. > Could gmx be part of your internet connection problem? GMX is not my ISP (but it is my "freemailer"), T-com is and I have had no trouble I can think of with it. > Comcast provides my internet connection via cable broadband, as well > as being my ISP for the account I'm writing to the list in. As a T-com customer I have my main account there and it nearly always worked -and if not, it regularly was a temporary flaw and did not take longer than some hours to be fixed. > Glad you have a concern for my welfare! (I am still enjoying my sandy > French beach "hello"!) I have lots of sunsets in gold, red, even beautiful ones in blue. If you like, type a word and I will mail 'em to you! >> We all live in a yellow subroutine :) > :yellowtardis: "yellow time machine" lol See you at Millyways :) -- kind regards Charlene Ferrara mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.5.26 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Skype: charleneferrara ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 3.5.26 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
