I suppose it might be inflammatory to someone who works for RL;
although I see no sign that RL employees are inflamed, and it was not
my intention to inflame them. I don't see why those words should
inflame anyone who does not work for RL.

I can only say that this is not the impression I have gotten. I might
be wrong, but it seems to me that RL is now trying to implement a new
degree of unicode support and that RL knew - or should have known - in
advance that users could lose characters in consequence of the partial
implementation of unicode in the Microed. Again, if I am not mistaken
(and I could be, because I don't read every message that gets posted
to tbbeta), this was something that we were only informed about after
3.51 testing began. If that is the case (as I believe it to be), then
I find it very hard to understand or appreciate. It is in relation to
this failure to communicate a known and substantial risk that I
brought up the ethics issue.

Natasha, my signature throughout this thread clearly indicates that I
have already reverted to an earlier version. To be on the safe side
now, I might go back even further to 3.0.2.10, because maybe the
problem of content distortion existed in the 3.5.36 that I currently
use (though I doubt it).
