Hi Beta Group, I have continued to struggle at times with the "could not create index of a message base" (or some similar error message) but I have not lost functioning.
I have some questions that could help me, if anyone can answer: 1. Does "refresh" rebuild the index of a mailbox? 2. I notice, in each folder, a .TBB and a .TBI file, together with a group of .tmp files. Is .TBI the index? And why are there .tmp files in each mailbox? 3. Is it dangerous to delete a .TBI file and let The Bat generate a new one automatically? Will it, in fact, generate a new TBI file in a given mailbox if I delete the old one? Thank you for ANY help here. Rick Grunwald wrote a reply about a week ago which stated in part, a solution beginning with "I use the ABC The Bat converter" when he had a trouble similar to mine, but the process he described seemed complex. Hmmm. I don't wish to risk losing mailboxes here, whatever I do. Also, a related question. TB website said to try to keep the inbox down to 50 messages or less, and I have tried to do that. Pegasus Mail, by default, moves all new inbox mail to a "main" folder when exiting Pegasus (as a default option), so that the inbox is clean when starting the next time. Would that feature be helpful in TB? -- Take care, Bob mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me." This is our function, our challenge, our fulfillment - to accept, enjoy and share.
