Maybe it could be of interest to work over the Alert-System
into 3 categories:
Notification(uncritical)/Warning(serious)/Red-Alert(critical)
and "design" the according Popups in yellow/orange/red.

It's not needed to do so in every case, but if it is
possible to continue with Mails, then it should be
possible. The Bat (designed as "save" Application) could
point here with a very understandable and informable
Message, which makes the user understand what is happening
now.

That's what i already tried to say.

See above: explain it as best, what is the problem.
I can not understand the "on a ship" part?

Most Cases the Users are not able to punish their sysops to
fix it, or you see the vacations explanation for example.
But they really need to go on, if it is possible.
