First of all, while you have your rar backup you haven't lost your old
message base. Sooner or later you'll be able to recover them.
Now, let's see if I can get a picture of your current situation. Let me
ask you a few questions, I may have more later:
1.- Which version are you currently running? 4.0.28 or latest beta?
2.- You say: "there a few megabytes in the list of folders, but no
messages to be seen.". Try this:
2.1.- Select any account/folder that shows some MB or KB in the
folder tree. Select one of the bigger sizes.
2.2.- Using Windows Explorer locate that same folder.
2.2.1.- Does the MESSAGES.TBB file there show the same size as
reported by TB?
2.2.2.- Do you have a TBI file there, or a TBN, or both or
perhaps none?
2.3.- If the answer to 2.2.1 above is Yes, exit TB and with Explorer
delete the TBI and or TBN files and re-start TB. Can you see the
messages in that folder now?
Let me know your answers before proceeding with possible further tests.
