It's however somewhat tedious when compared to the convenience TB!'s
plug-in provides. Be that as it may, you do get used to it since
signing and/or encrypting really amounts to using a single keyboard
shortcut each.

He probably said this because it supports more encryption algorithms
and is therefore more standards compliant. The ckt version of PGP
6.5.8 exceeds the standard version in that it does support more of the
encryption algorithms. Be that as it may, as Marck stated in his
response, there are still features found in GnuPG which are compatible
only with PGP versions 7 and later and not version 6.5.8 standard or
ckt. These features are however switchable and probably not used by
most, in an effort to maintain compatibility with all PGP users. This
is why I personally haven't switched to the latest version even though
I know that these features not supported by the version I use, exist.
I just don't think it's worth giving up TB!'s plugin for.
