WinRAR 2.6.
I had that problem myself, but it is really very easy to do. The
trick is to write the "a:\filename.rar" as the name of the archive in
the archive field in the box that opens up when you select
either the icon "Add", or "add to archive" from the menu command.

You should also check volume size (automatic) and use multimedia
compression.

It is also possible to create rar achieves with a fixed size on your
harddisk by entering the desired size instead of "automatic". That is
a nice feature if you don't have the time to made all the floppies at
the same time.

It may also be worthwhile not to ask WinRAR to further compress an
already compressed file by selecting "store" under the compression
method. It runs much faster that way and is probably less error
prone.
