It's only been documented on TBUDL as many other little goodies are. :)

It's definitely different. I keep turning it on to get used to it only
to eventually get fed up and turn it off. The relief it provides
through not having to use the ALT+L shortcut is offset by the amount
of times I have to use the alt+Backspace and Shift+Ctrl+F shortcuts
to either undo what I didn't want to happen or to disable it so that I
may do things that I can't do with it enabled. :)

Tell me about it. :) I was just using my wife's laptop and that damned
touchpad can play tricks on you.

You need to hit the spacebar after the '--' for the signature
automatic exclusion mechanism to work. IOW, it should be a '-- ' and
not '--'
