OK, I am using the rpeview pane *always*, and never use the folder
view. I think it makes it easier for me to scroll through the messages
one after the otehr, while at the same tiome knowing how far I have
progressed in my first task of the business day: "read your emails!".

My focus is on the message lsit. <up> and <down> or the rpevious/next
message respectively. No need for any <crtl> (and also <shft>) key
hitting.

That's what I do.

Focus on the message list. It makes sense. I'm hardly ever going
"upwards" in an email - and for those few occasions, a shortkey
<un-spacebar> is in the wish-list.

OK, I agree, the focus shouldn't change. I would call this a bug.
Neverless, leave the focus on message list, makes more sense anyway.

I tried this but found myself having to use the mouse a lot, at the
same time not seeing enough of the main window - what new message
just came in (on certain folders, my eyes are programmed to red-alert
me when new msgs comes in), so basically: a matter of taste.

As I need to read all messages, and all of them right away (except
TBUDL <g>), they will be read when I focus on them in the message
list. However, I would appreciate a "seen" flag as discussed earlier,
for those that will have to be ansered but not right away. Currently I
always click on "reply", but the resume reading other messages. Later
I look what reply editor windows are open.
