The  "virtual folder" I'm referring to is what appears when you double
click  on  the ticker. Enable the message list view in this window and
what  you  have  is a folder containing all new mail. There is no such
folder   in  the  TB  folder  hierarchy,  hence  the  nomenclature  of
"virtual".  IMHO  it is one of the most powerful features of TB. It is
my  main  entry point to TB. I keep TB itself in the tool tray for 90%
of  the  time I'm using it (that's time actually interacting with TB -
not  including  idle  time working in other apps.). With the ticker, I
seldom need to open the main TB window at all.

I  know,  I know; there are a lot of powerful features like templates,
quick templates, sorting office, etc., etc.
