I've just learned a new word here. (As a non-native English
speaker, I'm learning new words practically every day.)

Well, I in fact prefer mono fonts. As you can see in the above
example, with mono fonts I can use the caret marks to underscore
the word "gnawing" from you. You can never do that with
proportional fonts. Due to the increasing popularity of
proportional fonts, nobody is doing that anymore. (Using carets
to highlight words was once very popular in the fidonet (BBS)
era and in newsgroups.)

The only thing I like about proportional fonts is they usually
take less space, so long lines won't be wrapped in a ugly
manner. With TB!'s full-width preview pane, however, that
doesn't happen very often even with mono fonts.

>From what I've learned here, the lack of support for
proportional fonts is the fault of the development tool (Delphi
2) RITLabs uses to develop TB, so it won't be changed in a short
while. But they have promised in the next major release (v.2),
under development with a new tool, proportional fonts support
would be added (right guys?).
