Aha...yes, that's what happens.
But I didn't have to hit <Shift><Ctrl><T>. The ticker just started
automatically.

Yes, it did.

Okay...I think I understand that.

But I still don't understand how you use the ticker to manage your new
messages.
The message preview window, yes, the ticker, no.

Okay...I understand that now.

Okay, let me try this hypothetical example.
Say I have two primary e-mail *accounts.* John Doe and Jane Doe.
And I've set up several mailboxes under each account.
For example:
@John Doe
Tom Smith
Mary Smith
Toby Smith
@Jane Doe
Tom Jones
Mary Jones
Toby Jones
I want mail incoming to the John Doe account to be filtered to each of
its respective mailboxes according to, say, the message's Sender.
And to spend no time whatsoever inside the John Doe Inbox. That is, a
message from Tom Smith should go directly to the Tom Smith mailbox,
then turn bold italized red, get parked permanently, and then await further
handling.
When I get around to handling (reply to) this message, I want it (the
header that appears in the preview window) to automatically turn
itself back into plain black text, a copy sent to the Send box, and the
reply message itself sent to the Outbox to await sending.
Any message received for which there is no filter installed should
automatically *remain* in the Input box to await its disposition.
Ditto for the Jane Doe Account.
Can this be done?
Is this filtering done under the John Doe/Jane Doe Accounts? Or under each
mailbox's individual preferences, e.g., Tom Smith, Mary Smith, Toby
Smith, et al.?
Thanks for your patience, Curtis!
