I.e., the messages that are in the "inbox" equal the messages observed in the
message preview window?

Well, that comment makes it all that much more muddled for me...so I
think I'll let that one pass for awhile, okay?

I think we're losing something in the semantics here.

When *I* use the word "Account," I mean the actual e-mail "Account"(s)
of the user. The one with the "@"(s) in front of them.

Not the "mailboxes" underneath the Accounts.

In the example I gave you:

@John Doe
      Joe Smith

@John Doe is the name of the user, and the addressee to which all the incoming
mail is addressed.

Joe Smith, on the other hand(no "@"), is just a "mailbox" for placing mail coming from
Joe Smith that happens to be addressed to @John Doe.

So my question again is this:

Is all the filtering for Joe Smith's messages done under the @John Doe
Account? Or is it done under the Joe Smith "account" or mailbox?

Now if this try didn't explain it well enough, then I don't know about you, but
*I'm* going to go get drunk and start all over again tomorrow morning.

:>)
