Hi Tony,

On 22 September 2000 at 10:26:59 GMT +0100 (which was 10:26 where I
live) Tony Boom wrote and made these points on the subject
of "Curious - how did you find TB! ?":

PP>> Nick Andriash propagandized at the Eudora list :-)

TB> Well I'd say that was one up to Nick.

TB> I discovered TB! on a Gravity list. I suggested that if I could find an
TB> Email client as good as Gravity I could get rid of OE completely.

TB> Someone (It could have been but I wouldn't swear to it, Steve Lamb)
                                                              ^^^^^^^^^^
Have you got any idea of the havoc you may have just caused to TB
filter systems world-wide? Audio alerts, instant shredders, calls to
the police and support groups ... ;-p

TB> suggested TB! I've never used OE since.

How did I come to TB? I started out with Novell Netware mail years ago
then used Datatalk interactively for Telecom Gold and BBS mail.
Compuserve had its' own WinUI, which I used when I signed up with them
in 94 and then, when I got going in earnest with the Internet about
five years ago, I started out with the default M$IMN offering. I
switched to (and bought) Eudora (and Forte Agent) about four years ago
but, when Qualcomm wanted me to purchase a completely new licence and
pay full customs and shipping charges from the US for an upgrade
(having participated vociferously and very obligingly in the beta for
that version), I binned it in disgust and vowed "never to go near the
unprofessional shamsters" again (opinion, sour grapes, blah).

I spent a year hanging out with Pegasus - an okay time, but I was not
really happy with it. Eventually, in desperation for an easy life, I
switched to OE. I kept my eye on new email clients on the look-out for
a way-out of LookOut and I think I found TB through the email.com
newsletter. I downloaded it and paid for it within a few days. I have
a dump folder which contains the non-allocated vagrant messages left
over from my OE mailbase import. They are stamped May 25th 1998. I
guess that's when I switched - more than two years ago. I haven't even
bothered looking at anything else. There is nothing more I want from
an e-mail client. I use most of the power of TB and wouldn't want to
spend the time to re-learn the power features that I can now no longer
work without in a new client. I guess I'm stuck with it <g>.
