No, I am not suggesting it is a serious alternative to The Bat. You
have misunderstood. I have grave misgivings about some of its
features
(eg. the PGP plug-in doesn't work). What I AM saying, though, is
that
IMHO its interface with the user is worth looking at to see how
another
program can be made attractive yet hold a great deal of
functionality.
What I want is The Bat to have a similar interface, an editor that
supports proportional fonts (or at least calls an outside editor to
do
the same) and feels like the type of intuitive Windows program I am
used
to using.
I want the power of The Bat to be placed behind something more
attractive and easy to use. I'm not one to use a great deal of
scripting and macros, so these elements of TB leave me cold, although
I
know it is a reason many people seriously went over to TB. So I want
those elements included for those out there who wish to use them. at
the same time, I simply want to look at The Bat interface without
feeling I should be using something else.
For many of my everyday needs, Becky 2 works quite adequately, but I
do
want the functionality of The Bat for those times when I want more.
If
The Bat had a more attractive interface then I would not look at
another
program. Aesthetics matter to me.
