          JR:  IMO, refreshing the reader's memory about the
          subject  of  one's  reply  is useful for those who
          need it.  I think of it as a convenience.

          What I really find confusing (& I wish there was a
          convention  to  cover  this)  is  that in multiple
          conversations,  one  can  easily lose track of who
          said  what  to  whom.  For  the  convenience of my
          readers,  I  have a cursor positioner that adds my
          initials so there's less confusion.
