Now, David, I do realize that you must feel a bit slighted for being
accused of making a stupid suggestion.
But *please* do not allow this to break down into an undesirable ruckus.
Most of all, try not to tangle with a moderator in the way that you're
doing. It unfortunately encourages bad conduct on the list.
Read the list charter rules and try to abide by them. It does include a
part about unnecessary quoting and I do believe that you know what we're
driving at, so don't be too difficult on this issue. I don get your
point about having to quote entire messages on programming discussion
lists but this isn't one of those.
Finally, I'll have to declare this discussion *immediately* closed or
taken off-list as I always do when I see tempers flaring. :-)
