Hello Everyone,
Every day I get asked about alternatives to Eudora, Outlook, or
Netscape, and what I use. When I tell them that I use The Bat! they
are very curious why I don't use one of the above. When I tell them my
reasons (Eudora - Slow and buggy, suffering from useless features.
Outlook - a virii haven, and typical of MS products, bloat. Netscape -
won't even go there)
When asked if I thought that Bat would be good for my client though, I
almost always say No. Why would I do that if it is such a good
program? Simple...documentation.
I am the CTO for a medium sized ISP here in the US, and 90% of my
clients are businesses that don't have time to sit and fiddle with a
program to figure it out. The lack of even remotely updated
documentation really hurts this product. The only person I could tell
to use the program is one that is more like me. A wirehead.
My clients would LOVE the filters in this thing. It is relatively
easy to figure out, but only if you spend the time. And the PGP
support needs to advance.
Thanks for listening to my rant. I love The Bat! and would pay again
for the honor of using it, but someone needs to work on the
documentation sooner rather than later.
