I don't know if I was confused before or not, but I think I am now. I
haven't been around the list and/or the bat long enough, I guess to be
up on what views are called. I think there are two ways to read a
message. The first is while I have a column on the left with my
folders listed. If I highlight a folder, I have a list of the
messages in that folder in a window which goes across the top of the
rest of my screen. When I highlight a message, the text shows up on a
window across the bottom under the contents list. If the active
window is the top right one, and a message is highlighted, I can
ctrl-shft-i, and I get a memo of the message window into which I can
immediately type, hit save and have the message show up in the memo
column.
The other possibility is to double click on the message in that top
window and I get a window called "view folder 'folder name' of 'e-mail
account name'" while that is the active window I can hit ctrl-shft-i
and similarly get a memo of the message window into which I can
immediately type, hit save and have the message show up in the memo
column. In neither instance do I have to change messages after I open
the memo of the message window.
