if you like ZA, take a look at TPF (tiny personal firewall,
www.tinysoftware.com) ... like ZA, it checks all outgoing connections, but
it's more configurable : specify which app can connect to which IP, thru
which port, using which protocol.
i don't think it has a mail-checker like ZA, though ...

ehm, AVG is not free ... not for 'continental' Europeans at least !
