Hello Timothy J. Luoma,

I have thinking over, and I think your current approach is the best
and simple way for mobile user (notebook user).
As alternative, you may set on HOST file as :
xx.xx.xx.xx smtp
#yy.yy.yy.yy smtp
^
watch here!

xx.xx.xx.xx = smtp address in office
yy.yy.yy.yy - smtp address at home/ISP.

While at home, just change to :
#xx.xx.xx.xx smtp
yy.yy.yy.yy smtp

then put "smtp" on TB! transport properties.

You may run any SMTP (relay) server, such Mercury or others, but this
will burden your PC.

Because you only need SMTP Relay, maybe IIS5 SMTP will satisfy your
needs. IIS5 SMTP built in on W2K server (on W2K Pro IIS5-SMTP not
automatically install).
IIS5-SMTP do just like MDaemon for outgoing message, it's try direct
delivery first; if failed then route through Smarthost.
