Right. That's what I do. :-)
I generally want email I send to be wrapped within my preferred column
setting - whether it includes quoted text or not. As long as I'm not
changing the meaning or necessary context by re-flowing someone's
quoted material to my preferred setting, I see no problem with the
practice.
Sometimes, especially with email sent either via inferior clients, or
by careless senders, the only way to make a reply look "decent" is to
re-flow the quoted text.
