You're only solution there would be to create an account specifically
for storing your mailing list messages. You can disable the accounts
checking by going into the account properties/options/'ignore check
all accounts request' and also disabling periodic checking. At the
account level, create your generic list templates. It will always be
included in the folder templates for any folder you create within the
account. I have such an arrangement personally. All list related mail
are stored in a separate account. You can filter across accounts so
getting your mail directly to these folders wouldn't be a problem. You
can use the account's SMTP settings for sending mail. It makes for a
nice, working arrangement.

If all the mailing lists that you are a member of leave a reply-to:
header so you can simply hit reply to send a reply post to the list,
then using the address book could offer a potentially more elegant
solution.

You could create an address book group and then use the group
templates. The %To addressing would be sorted out as it is for me. I
however use the same signatures in my group. However, a nice %IF macro
could sort out which signature is used. I could use such a macro since
I have another address book group in which I use different signatures.
I therefore have to editing the group entry templates specifically.
The IF macro could save me that headache. I could work on it if you're
interested. But remember, address book templates will only work for a
list if the reply automatically fills in the list's To: address,
otherwise a folder template is better.
