Yes... you can turn on Windows Classic view, although it still has some funky bits that don't sit just how they used to in Win9x. > set up your Networks such that most of the security holes are patched, etc? Begging for miracles? ;) I doubt even with all the MS patches for 2k, you could secure it unless you had it sitting behind a proper firewall (like a Cisco PIX firewall for example). Even then I'd be concerned about issues such as IIS bugs, even so called patched issues. > I understand that MS will not be supporting Win 2K for very much longer, so > I'm curious if XP Pro can be just as secure and stable as Win 2K if you know > what you are doing. I thought it was Windows 9x/ME... didn't realise they were dropping support for 2K as well... An unusual move seeing as they have not really been pushing WinXP as a server product yet (not that I'd noticed anyway) -- Jonathan Angliss ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) ________________________________________________________ Current Ver: 1.61 FAQ : http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Bug Reports: https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/
