Yes, of course it does. Although bandwidth considerations is not the
issue now, there are thousands and thousands of news servers involved,
with many different setups and holding different amounts of messages
for each newsgroup (or for different number of days) and the message
_replied_to_ may not be available at _your_ server for viewing (many
people still view newsgroups on-line with readers such as Xview) or
even for downloading with an OLR. With mail list, you receive message
by e-mail in your mailbox and they all will be there waiting for you
to collect them.
