A phrase I heard which I like is

<whatever> is only free if your time is worthless.

i.e  sometimes  with  the free stuff you spend a lot of time trying to get it to
work.

It doesn't always apply, but to OE - well no comment.

Saying that mind, Mozilla Mail isn't too bad, and Calypso is ok.
