Yahoo! archives are now such a PITA because of the ads. However, some Y! list owners have taken to zipping the archives & making them available to members. I find that useful if I want to search for something specific. Then I download & search the archive but that doesn't happen all that often. Maybe that's the key - how often one actually uses the archive to search for back msgs although I do know some folks are true archivists.
