It's not that I'm in any way more special and above reproach than
any other member which is the impression that many will be all too
willing to take. Once a statement from anyone in a position of
authority is made and it could be construed as
implying that they're in any way different from others, this is the
usual understanding that is gleaned and assumed. I can't say that I
blame you for being concerned that this is what I meant.

With regards to these lists; as a moderator, I've been empowered to
do certain things on this list. It's a responsibility I take very
seriously and do my best not to abuse in any way or form. Anyway,
it's not good form to oppose a moderator, someone is a position of
authority on the list, in the way it was done. People, by nature,
tend to take pleasure in witnessing this and often see it as a queue
to follow suite. Soon, there's no order since if the moderator is
being challenged in such a way, who's left to control the situation.
Now Csaba may not have been doing this specifically, but the style
of his post could easily be construed as such. I have to be
    sensitive to this.

It's therefore a dangerous situation that can lead to disorder as a
result of disrespect for the moderator and what he/she stands for.

It's not me that I'm talking about, but rather what I'm supposed to
represent on the list. I had no problem with his challenging my
apparent ambivalence and double standards. However, his style
breached the list rules and breaching the list rules while
challenging a moderator is just not good form. It's very unnerving.
It makes me wonder if what I represent is appreciated and whether or
not I should continue being a member in such a capacity. I certainly
don't take any particular pleasure out of it or the responsibilities
I have as a moderator. I do it because I was asked to, and I decided
to accept the challenge because I think I'm capable of providing a
fair moderatorial service to these lists that are of great quality
largely because they're moderated. I accepted since it was a call
for assistance that I feel pleasure to give.

This last paragraph was put together in an attempt to make you know
that I'm willing to be a moderator, but not because I like the
authority that goes with it. I don't really need it. So there's no
need to feel that I'm in any way more special than other members
    here.
