What is the Connection type setting in the "Options|Network and Administration" ? They should be set to "LAN or manual". If it is set already, check the Network settings in the account properties dialogue.. The program was crashing if I tried to abort. It has not done that in months now, except when BellSouth's mail server is down... which is several times a week.
