This seems to be what is happening.

I will keep that in mind. As of this afternoon, I am no longer keeping
messages on the server. Instead, I am forwarding mail to another
address.

It has been a catch-22 for me. I leave mail on the server so that I
can still poll it by Outlook. I want to completely move to The Bat!,
at least for newsgroup mail. However, I have not done so because it
has been far from stable for me. The catch-22: keeping it on the
server is probably causing the instability.

I love the features of The Bat!, but I think that it should be able to
handle the occassional mal-formed message. Are there any particular types of
messages that would be likely to cause such a problem?

In the few hours since I went to removing all mail from the server,
the problem of it resending all my mail has not returned.
