If I connect a MS Intellimouse Explorer, the thumb setting show up. (But I hate this mouse. The thumb buttons are in a lousy place. I got this free with my upgrade to Office XP). The problem I have with the MouseWare drivers is that some apps do not like the wheel scroll settings. In Logitech mode, some Office apps don't scroll well. In MS Office mode, apps like TB don't scroll at all. -- Peace!
