I forgot to mention that changing the prefix should be done only when you know that the recipient doesn't mind it that way. '>' is a standard prefix and many e-mail clients, including TB!, recognize only that quote prefix. As a result, if you use an alternative quote prefix, clients that recognize only '>' as a quote prefix will not recognize your quoted text as being a quotation. As a result: - your quoted text may end up not being coloured by the recipients client. When the quotes are in a different colour, it makes visual differentiation of quotes from new text much easier. - some clients, like TB! are able to reflow quoted text. If your prefix isn't recognized then it will be mixed up in the quoted text upon reflow. - the quote prefix will not be handled correctly when the text is being requoted multiple times. So, although the '>' may appear ugly or you wish your quotes to appear special or different from that of others, consider the problems that may result from doing this. Of course, if your recipient is happy with it, then by all means go ahead. - -- -= allie_M =- | List Moderator _ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP SDK 3.0.2 iQA/AwUBPvLkM1fJ62ArBxfiEQL2NgCgiai8uwf9V24oNIvaaQyQJ5tb20MAoMKC q9+oMV7JKQ95YIh7iwJbLVav =KSbH -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
