I'm a newbie to this spam filtering lark, but I have been trying 'K9'
In spite of my ignorance I have found this very easy to set up and understand and it is catching nearly all unwanted mail. Took me about 5 days to 'train' effectively.
I also recently got K9, downloaded and fed it 500 megs of spam along with all my old emails, and let it digest it all for a while. Now it filters out the spam quite effectively! I've got it chained up with SpamPal which tags messages a bit too eagerly... A nice combination. Not to forget that my ISP uses Spamassassin which I think is a bit misconfigured because it lets through a lot...
So I've been posting a bit on the usenet with my real email address, how sick is that...
