For private correspondence and sender identity verification PGP is an extremely important and secure medium. Some of us rely on encryption and verification to transmit important data and e-mail. Others simply utilize e-mail as a chat method where you, as the sender, and the receiver not need be concerned with the identity of the sender nor the placement of sensitive content in the body. Obviously you are one of the latter users.
