  I appreciate both yours and Robert's responses and I thank you both
  for testing it for me, however when I follow the instructions you have
  given and when I get to the new account, I am presented with a circle
  with a line through it (the universal symbol to signify that something
  is prohibited).

  I am holding down the Alt key and I left click and hold to drag the
  folder to the new account, but as soon as the folder leaves the
  account in which it is located (i.e, crosses the barrier), the symbol
  described above appears. And when I reach the folder where I want to
  deposit the folder and let go, nothing happens.

  I'm perplexed.

  I thought briefly that it might be due to having sub folders under the
  one I was trying to move, but I tested with a folder that had no
  sub folders and I got the same results.
