Guten Morgen,
rg> How about a networked mail folder and two BATs that both reference that rg> same database? That's exactly the way it's working here. One caveat, though: The view mode per folder is stored not locally, but in the message base. Since the "column autosize" option has been removed, you may have to adjust column widths on each machine again and again if you happen to use different screen sizes - like on a desktop and a laptop, or if you prefer windows over full screen display. For this reason I'm still using TheBat v3.0.1.33 which is the last version not crippled in this respect. Maybe you can train your users better to make the necessary adjustments every time or just life with the waisted screen space. ;-) rg> If one machine is a laptop you would need to start your VPN and map that rg> drive letter before opening up TB! of course... I have found that Windows VPN is very slow, and I really do mean "very". Even on the same network I only get transfer rates of about one MB/s or less. Working with larger folders is very difficult that way. I'm therefore using Windows Offline Folders to synchronize the laptops. When detached, they take with them the most recent message base and when reconnected, they synchronize to the latest updates. If something important comes up while not connected, the laptop can always fetch or send new mail by itself and synchronize again later, of course. -- MfG, Alto mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
