I have no problem with light rail itself. It's the fact we are not the deciding factor, that others are making the choices for us.
Second, they are making us pay for something we don't want, or use, and that it is more costly than it's worth and can be done more economically. I think we should be able to choose where we live and how we get around and are willing to pay for it, if we get our money's worth. I used to ride Bike from MPLS or St. Paul to the city of Shakopee on some weekends, but I now have a car and choose to drive it. I would consider a nice bike ride or a train ride, out there, if we had a good trail, but I want people to decide for themselves what and how they get around. Even with a light rail system as it is currently proposed it will not alleviate traffic and people shouldn't have to use alternative transit just because the people in power won't use our tax dollars the way we want them to. >From: enga0005 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: [TCMetro] Re: Transportation Options >Date: Thu, 28 Mar 2002 19:22:10 CST > >First off, if anybody would like to respond to this post, please remember >to send your response to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The last time I posted, I got >a private response and I don't think it was intentional.
