Personally, we need to support legislative activities that support both
Transit, Roads, and Bridges in the upcoming legislative session.
Business leaders such as the Itasca Project and the Minnesota Chamber of
Commerce also support such goals. Itasca Group has paid for a poll that
shows that Minnesotans statewide support Transit, Roads, and Bridges.

Today's opening of the complete Hiawatha Line (and last summer's start)
have helped to show that the ridership claims are not bogus -- people
can and do ride transit. Transit needs to be put in where it is
effective -- and the mode chosen the most effecient over the long term.
Mixed projects of Roads and Transit could be proposed where the overall
cost per user ends up being less than if the projects were seperate --
and the benefits to road drivers and transit users weighed in the same
forum, rather than in respective vacuums.
