[TCMetro] Subject: Financial incentives needed to conserve fuel now!

"Twin Cities business executives said Thursday that an extra $750
million a year must be spent on roads ..."

Instead, I think the money should be used for financial incentives to
conserve fuel now! ... described in a strategic plan for Wisconsin at:

Subject: Opinion on Startribune's Pawlenty pushes plan to double ethanol

The Gov. is right in wanting to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
But just that is only part of the problem for the future. An enormous
problem for the future is the enormous volumes of CO2 and other
greenhouse gases accumulating in earth's atmsphere due to fuel
burning, including ethanol. see:
http://www.cmdl.noaa.gov/infodata/faq_cat-3.html

What is really needed are financial incentives to Conserve, Now ... to
reduce vehicle miles traveled by highway and air, the large amount of
energy used in cooling and heating homes, and the heavy use of energy
by industry. Making millions of more cars, trucks and airplanes adds
additional large amounts of energy in the production of those
vehicles. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ClimateArchive/message/229
We need to act to reduce greenhouse gas emission... the world is in
crisis due to rapid global warming.
