And citizens out there willing to think about these things and take the time for
photos and such help get projects like these done. I love the Greenway.

As for the miles driven, I think the tech's coming into it's own to make it
practical to turn the roads into toll roads. I'm much more in favor of having a
direct, immediate (or at least monthly) impact on people's pocket books. the
gas tax was a decent attempt at this (more miles driven == more gas tax paid).
But I don't think it reflects the true costs for those miles.

convering it to a bikeway back when Ted Mondale was talking about making part of
it a trolley route. I took a bunch of pictures of the "Greenway" during Jan-Feb
2000. It got a bit complicated around the old Sears building. I biked a lot
from 1979-Mar 2000, while living in St. Paul. I wanted to see a bike trail
connections between Uptown, downtown Minneapolis, the U of M's, the fairgrounds,
and the State Capitol/downtown St. Paul. I thought the connecting point might
be near the tracks a couple blocks north of Selby and west of Snelling, near
Pierce.
