Thanks *very* much to all of you who replied to my single-sourcing queries over the past couple of months.
I have now successfully restructured the administrator's guide, breaking it up, as suggested by Donna and Carla, by Heading1 or Heading2, putting shared files into a shared files folder and vendor-specific files (book, toc, lot, ix, and others) into a vendor-specific folder, and eliminating use of text insets (and, thereby, eliminating the many broken cross-references)! In the course of verifying cross-references in the PDF, I noticed that cross-references to text with the paragraph tag Number1 did not work in the PDF, even though they work in the FrameMaker source document. All other cross-references are to paragraph tags such as ChapterTitle, Heading1, and Heading2. Any thoughts/suggestions/jeers ?:) Carol _______________________________________________ Are you a Help Authoring Trainer or Consultant?
