What do I think of the idea?

I'm not sure. Apart from the conversation regarding its purpose, I've
experienced the following problems with wikis:

* Lack of ownership. With everyone collaborating, nobody is ultimately
responsible for whether or not the wiki is organized well, useful, and
adhering to its stated purpose. This is especially problematic if the people
who contribute to the wiki don't have time to be very involved.

* Proprietary markup. Not all wikis use proprietary markup, but some do. The
proprietary markup that the wiki I work with frequently is not that
difficult to learn, but it's just another hurdle for busy people to
overcome. Often it's just enough of a hurdle to prevent people from
participating.

How/for what would you use it?

Depends on its purpose.

Would you use it regularly?

If I thought it was useful.

Would you contribute to it as well as read it?

I probably wouldn't contribute much as I'm a newbie and don't have much
expertise to offer.

Another old and wicked writer new to blogs and wikis:

1. I think the idea is interesting, and could be a good way to learn about
such things.

2. As I'm understanding from some research and the discussions, a wiki
would be a place to collect technical writing "best practices" -- those
tasty bits that take our efforts from "compliance with requirements" to
"wow". Of course, we could also include compliance topics.

3. Define "regularly". Check it once in a while? Certainly.

4. With collaborators/editors, gladly.
