1.  Dress for the job you want, not the one you have.

2.  Behave in such a way that your mother would have no complaints.  Tall
order for me; she was a belle and a sorority sister at the College of
Charleston (South Carolina).  Other people have differing standards.

3.  You are the communications professional.  Act like it.  No hair-pulling
or name-calling, and sloppy grammar even in conversation is a no-no.

4.  Expect to be treated with respect.  If you are not, deal with it
immediately and at the source, escalate up the ladder only as necessary.
