We are strongly considering a wiki for such, as well as content review.
Strongly. Very strongly.

The problem is time. We don't have time for the dedicated overhead of
creating such a system.

Cheers.

Subject: [TCP] Using an internal blog for development updates

Good morning!

My ever-evolving help system is about to be launched on the Intranet and
will be viewable by our development and testing team. This is the first
time my company has ever done this, and, well, it's up to me to further
the project and create new procedures that have never before existed.
Based on the past few months' experience, I'm worried about getting good
feedback. So far, my user documentation has been met with "I like it"
or "It looks good" by most people-while it's true I have written good
user documentation, I want to provide a forum for public discussion.
Therefore, I think the best way to go about this is by hosting a
corporate blog on our Intranet. However, I need to sell the idea to
those who approve such things. What have your experiences been in using
an internal blog? Has using a blog improved communications among
developers, writers (well, I'm the only writer), testers, design groups,
etc? What are the tangibles? Can a development team blog become a
springboard for a corporate blog in which other departments successfully
communicate ideas without physical meetings? Are there good freeware
programs out there-e.g., LifeType, Drupal, Subtext?
