After being a software tech writer for 35 years, I'm almost ashamed to
admit that I can't touch type. But it doesn't slow me down. I look at
the keys and I type darned fast and fairly accurately at any rate. I do
all my composing on the keyboard, and I have to go back and edit anyway,
so I catch most of the tpyos. I haven't ever noticed any problems with
doing it this way, and have a low tolerance for repetitious rote
learning, so I doubt if I'd be able to learn at this late date anyway.

I have had several people comment at how quickly I type even if my eyes
are cast downward as I do so.

My 2ยข,

John G
