As far as I can tell, upgrading to Media Player 10 requires installing
Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage spyware.

My installation is legal. I don't want my PC to phone home.

I tried installing Media Player 10 at work, because I keep getting
prompted to and I am curious about the benefits to me, the user, but the
installation keeps failing.

I had to switch from Firefox to IE as well. Then I upgraded from Windows
Media Player 10 to 11. Then I upgraded Microsoft Live Meeting. I had to
reboot my computer once and re-enter the meeting twice. Nothing worked.
