And the certification is the word of someone else the hiring manager
doesn't know that you've done these things.  Just as a PE license is no 
assurance of a good engineer and passing the bar or medical boards
no assurance of a good lawyer, doctor or dentist.  Might just as well 
start yourself a referral business called "1-800-writer."
