This applies PDFs produced for online/CD distribution, not for printed
documents. I'm curious as to what others are doing in their docs, or
what your opinion is if you're currently not doing PDFs.

1. Do you use roman numerals for the front matter/introductory sections?

2. Do you count the cover in your numbering sequence? (The cover would
be page 1 or i.)

My preference is to NOT use roman numbering for the introductory
materials, and to number the document from 1-n, starting with the cover.
This allows document page numbers to line up with the page numbers of
the PDF, and if the users want to jump to page 53, the scroll bar or the
GoTo box on the bottom would take them to the correct page. Also, if
they want to print a particular section they can use the Page Range box
of the Print dialog without having to confirm that the page numbers in
the file are in sync with the PDF page numbers.

What's your opinion or setup?
