It's not clear - you mention paying "full price" for FM8. Do you mean the
full upgrade price from an earlier FM release, or the full retail price for
a new license?

If the latter, it's been mentioned here that you can legitimately sell and
transfer your full FM 8 purchase, and recover much of your outlay.

To add a bit of perspective, although you've been knocked for posting
everywhere possible to call attention to this unpleasant situation, the
positive side is that apparently nobody else on these lists has had the same
bad experience. There may be no comfort in knowing this, but it's also
useful to quote this information to an Adobe customer service manager who
could have the authority to reverse the excess amounts you've been charged.
Your single case probably won't open the doors to a flood of similar
requests. It's worth a try.

Your credit-card vendor may also be able to go to bat for you, using their
muscle to negotiate a refund of excess charges, to make you even.
